The ACH is based on the MICH (Modular Integrated Communications Helmet), so it is meant to accept under-the-helmet comms/ear pro by design. As long as you have to right padding set-up under your helmet, you won't have any issues.

I've tried a few models of electronic ear pro, but not all. I own Sordins and Peltors, and the later are distinctly inferior to the former. The 6S are great for that. A lot of guys I've seen at competitions are using Howard Leight Impact Sports. I'm using a pair of old style Peltor ACHs but I wouldn't buy them new.
